More Holiday Fun

Max got several amazing lego sets for Christmas. This is the gazillion-piece carrier boat that he and Mitch put together. It was hours of fun, and Mitch truly enjoyed it as much - or more - than Max.
Max got to take it to school and put it on display in the library.

Amanda spent many hours over Christmas break learning to sew. She accomplished one of her Personal Progress value projects (way to go, Amanda!) She made this cool quilt for Taylor.

This was a fun game that Max shared with us for Family Night. You should try it with your family. Just simply fill a bowl with rice and then add safety pins (we also added some paper clips). With a blindfold on, you race against the clock, say for about 60 seconds, and see how many of the pins you can find and pull out of the bowl. It is harder than you might guess to sort the pins from the rice without looking. If you are creative you can even tie this in to your Family Night lesson somehow.

I'm impressed with Amanda's quilt- I'm too intimidated to try something like that myself!
